You can expect a warm, friendly, and casual atmosphere. No fancy dress unless you like it.
Haven Community Church incorporates timeless elements into our weekly worship services, using a variety of song, prayer and other elements that represent the best of contemporary worship. You can join us in person at our facility in North East, MD, or via the internet on your computer or mobile device.
Our order of worship includes elements that have been part of Christian worship through the ages, but with a contemporary flavor. We are a non-denominational church, rooted in the beliefs of the Methodist and Free Methodist denominations from which we grew.
We often include different people in presenting Gods word found in scripture, and have many people applying the musical gifts God has given them as part of our Praise Team.
To make sure you feel comfortable so you can worship our Lord, here are some answers to questions people have asked in the past:
What time does church start?
Our services and children's education programs start at 10:00 AM year round, both on-line and at our facility in North East, MD. Most people arrive 15-20 minutes before the service to fellowship, enjoy a cup of tea or coffe and some treats.
What should I wear?
We're mostly casual. If you wear slacks or jeans you'll fit right in. Some women wear dresses and some don't, but whatever you decide will be fine with us.
What about kids?
We are able to offer in-person classes, and have an awesome children's ministry called HavenKids. When you get here, you will be able to ask one of the greeters, and they can take you to the right age appropriate class. That way you can register your child with their teacher, and know where to take them after the start of the service.
We love to have the kids join in the openning part of the service, their voices and energy get us all in the worship spirit. Want more information, please contact our Children's Ministry Director at sunday-school@havencc.org.
We also have nursery available. Again one of our greeters can take you and your young one there too.
What is the service like?
We are best described as having a casual, contemporary style worship, and encourage broad congregational participation.
